I just bought something from an electronics store, and after purchasing I realized that they only charged me $80 when the item cost over $1,000. Am I legally obligated to go back to the store and right the wrong of the sales clerk?I used a credit card and a gift card to purchase the product. The only thing that successfully charged was the gift card, and the receipt says I paid completely in cash with the exception of the gift card.
No attorney will tell you that you shouldn't pay for the goods in the entirety. The ethical choice would be to pay for the goods in full. Keep in mind that the merchant may realize the error and seek the remaining amount.

Depending upon the laws of your state, this could be the basis for a criminal action (here in Ohio, called theft by deception). Basically, you got something for a price which you either knew was the wrong price or for a price that you should have known something was amiss.
