Am I legally required to pay for a busted window in my apartment that I’m not responsible for?
While sitting in the living room we heard some glass break. I checked around and in my daughter’s room her window was broken and I could see the rock that hit it. The apartment is trying to charge us $79 in addition to our rent for something we didn’t even do. Clearly I’m not going to pursue legal action over $79 but is this legal for them to be charging us? I put a maintenance request in the next morning since it happened at night which is when we were told we would be responsible. They lowered the price to $79 from $130. Thanks in advance.
