If I had an alcohol minor in possession at my college in California at age 19, my license was suspended for one year, will it show on a background check for employment?
That would depend on who is doing the background check and what sources they check. I am not licensed in CA, but generally, that offense is most likely on your driving record. You can go to the drivers licensing authority and request a copy of your drivers license record (often there is a small fee). This will show you what others could learn on a typical background check. It is a minor offense and you were still a teenager.,I would suggest you stand up and just be honest about it. Also, an attorney may be able to help clear your record, in some cases. Good Luck
My disclaimer is simply that Avvo already has an adequate disclaimer.
The best way to figure out what's on your "criminal record" in California is to Google "Livescan locations", go to the one nearest you, and get your fingerprints done yourself. Review your own criminal record to see if it's there.
