I am more than willing to pay good money for an attorney for my child custody case. My only problem is coming up with a $5,000+ retainer fee up front. Are there any family law attorneys in Wake County that will work with me?
There are many family law attorneys that charge lower up-front retainer fees. Shop around a bit.

Responding to this question does not constitute an attorney-client relationship. Always seek the advice of a lawyer directly to address your specific circumstances.
Attorneys base retainers on their experience for how much your case will be. Speak frankly with the attorney's office about maybe breaking up into two or three payments over a few months and the attorney may agree on that. You may also be able to take a 401k loan, put it on a credit card, or borrow from parents to finance and repay them. They are not the best solutions but are possibilities. Hope this helps.
