I got a letter in the mail from a lawyer claiming that I hit a motorcycle and fled the seen. The police report has no witnesses listed. The driver of the motorcycle claims I came of out no where & hit him. I looked at my car and saw no damage. I called the insurance company to inform them and they asked if I drove that day? I remembered I did & because I drove at the proximity of the accident time and because the accident is near the route I take home the insurance company wants me to take responsibility. The insurance company says even though they saw pictures of my car with no damage, the timing makes me responsible. I called the police to inform them I was not in an accident & how they got my information and they said a witness took a pic and I said but it's not on the report! help!
If you get cited, best to get a local traffic court lawyer to resolve it.
If you haven't been charged with leaving the scene consider yourself lucky. Let your insurance company handle the civil claim against you.

Your insurance company should handle this. That's why you purchased a policy in the first place. Good luck.
