A lawyer just told me I needed a litigation or civil litigation attorney. For an auto accident, Is that correct?
The claim is now on my uninsured motorist auto insurance because the other car owners policy declined coverage because the driver of that car was not named on the policy. Need an attorney to help settle the case at the final stages. No case has been filed. Nothing has been done on this case in regards to my auto insurance. Had an attorney, but he stole the excess medical pay he received in my name and became unresponsive.

Any Firm, like ours, that handles PI cases could take a case like this. I have been licensed for 25 years and can assure you uninsured coverage is fairly easy to handle but all attorneys would need more information on your case prior to accepting representation. The best way to find an attorney is to search by AVVO for a good one.

Unfortunately, it seems you did not hire an attorney that practices in personal injury. You are probably better off as an uninsured motorist claim. You should have no problem finding a qualified attorney to take on your matter and possibly even recovering the medical payment money from the prior attorney. Don't wait on this one, be proactive and reach out now.
You don't "need" an attorney, but you would be far better off with one. Get a free consultation and find out whether you want someone to work for you.
Nothing herein guarantees, warranties, or predicts the result of any future legal representation. No attorney-client relationship is formed without the consent of the Law Offices of Todd Rash expressed in a written retainer agreement. Some of the answers here on Avvo may include questions that the attorneys hope you will answer by messaging them directly to them in hopes of establishing a relationship with you that will result in you hiring them. State law and Avvo rules prohibit attorneys from soliciting potential clients for business.
I recommend you consult with an experienced personal injury lawyer who will know how to properly evaluate your case. In addition, you should look for one with trial experience. As you interview lawyers, you should ask them about their trial experience. As a former insurance company lawyer who has been behind the curtain, the objective of the insurance company is to minimize the value of your case. The company will hire an experienced trial lawyer to achieve that end, which is why it is important that you have a competent trial lawyer on your side. The company needs to understand that if a fair settlement offer is not made, your attorney is prepared to go to court. Many lawyers advertise their services, but very few will go to trial. Instead, they will refer your case out to someone else as the case gets closer to trial. One of the first things an insurance company does is check the trial experience of your lawyer. "Low-Ball" settlement offers are often made to lawyers who do not try cases.
1. At this point in time and in the future, do not communicate with any automobile insurance company. Any automobile insurance company does not have your best interest(s) at mind and at heart. You need to consult with (and hire) a licensed California Personal Injury Attorney.
2. It is important to know the specific date in June 2017 that this automobile accident occurred on for statute of limitations purposes.
3. Assuming that the automobile accident occurred in the State of California, in which city and county did the automobile accident occur?
4. Was there a police report made/filed?
