I have been unemployed for the last year so I haven't paid my car note. I told them they could come get the car but they haven't. I got a letter saying we have a hearing because they want me arrested. What should I do?
You can't go to jail on a warrant application hearing for merely failing to pay a just debt. You need to provide proof at the hearing that you attempted to turn the car in. If you turn the car in, there is no theft by conversion. Which I assume they are trying to accuse you of. Hire an attorney, or avail yourself of the public defender at the hearing if available to you.
