My mom received a 30 day notice to move from her apartment even though she has a year lease. They are wanting to do work on the building and they gave her two options. She must move herself and all her belongings out. Then she can either move to a third floor apartment (she's 65) or live somewhere else for 3 weeks and return when the work is complete. They will not compensate for any out of pocket expenses. Does she have to move? Can they do this?
It's impossible to answer this question without reviewing the lease.
