I rented a house for 3 years my landlords recently sold to a property managment company and code enforcement became involved and brought to my attention there's no buisness licence or certificate to occupy. There's a case number through code enforcement for improper occupancy so I wanted to know what papers to file for my money back I have spent over the 3 years or is it just a small claims lawsuit?
Go to an attorney who specializes in tenant law. You will probably need to file a case in superior court but based on the facts you have laid out, I think you have a strong case and you could possibly get treble damages.
Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals.
