I just came across marriage certificate after it has been locked in a safe. I’m not sure if I’m legally married , other than common law which I don’t know much about.
Washington doesn't have common law marriage, but recognizes it if it was formed in one of the minority of States that have it. Apparently, California doesn't have common law marriage, either.
Maybe you should get the proper certification by getting married with the real names on the documents.
