I recently broke my one year lease early as at first i had a hard time getting a hold of someone in the company to even answer me. Finanlly someone emailed me back, she was the property managers assistant i asked her if i could leave early without paying anything and she told me yes and that i would get my deposit back. I have the emails to prove it. And now that i have left they tell me i owe them two months rent. It does state that in my lease. But i asked her if i could leave without paying thinking she was looking at my lease giving me accurate information and now its all lies. Sense she is the propertys managers assistiant would getting a lawyer help me to not pay the 2 months that they say i owe them & to get my deposit back?
No one can say for sure, sometimes a lawyer can help by just being the one to negotiate/demand. But this (at least with respect to the phone call(s)) will be a "he-said/she-said" type of case (depending on what those e mails ACTUALLY say) and the odds are very good that your lease provides that any changes must be in writing, signed by both parties. But i would suggest you at least CONSULT with a good local real estate attorney, bring in your lease and the e mails, and see what he or she advises you to do. he initial consult shouldn't cost too much; and if the lawyer thinks you have a solid case, you MAY be able to recover your attorneys fees and cost.

Possibly. This will revolve in large part on the details of the e-mail saying you can leave and not pay the 2 months and get your security deposit back. That anyone would make such an agreement with you would be astonishing absent some extraordinary circumstances.
