Over 10 years ago I was arrested for dui that was lessened to reckless. I was told by my lawyer to plead no contest. I was adjucated guilty and I am now trying to apply for Florida government job either city or county and was told because I was adjucated guilty I can not have it sealed our expunged. Is there a way of amending to adjucation withheld or anything else i cam do at this point to help with my background check. Will I be precluded from government county, city, city of police jobs etc?
An adjudication of guilt from 10 years ago is a bit of a lost cause at this point. You are still very employable, however if you are competing for your jobs against someone equally as qualified with no adjudication, guess who wins. Open and honest in applications and interviews is probably your best bet. It happened 10 years ago, you are a different person now.
