Sure, you can try anything. Sounds like you're representing yourself and that is universally a bad idea. Would you try to perform your own root canal or surgery? No? Then why do you think you can be your own lawyer? Take your toothbrush because you might need it. Hire a lawyer if you can.

I would have the money ready. Go to the court clerk on the second floor of the Tempe courthouse ask to get added to a calendar. If you can't do that, the police station is on the first floor. Post the bond and get a new court date. I do this for people routinely.
