My father has lost his vision after an eye surgery. I had made a formal complaint about the eye surgeon to the State Medical Boards and I have sent out the records to a malpractice attorney to see if there is a case. I heard from the Medical Board that ' after investigation they did not find any misconduct as defined by the State Medical Board'. Does that mean that the malpractice attorney will also be getting back to me saying that there is no case !
Not necessarily. The Medical Board frequently finds no "misconduct," but "misconduct" is not the standard for evaluating and pursuing a medical malpractice claim. Best wishes to you and your father.
Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.
