I am a firm believer in approriate resolution of both domestic relations and criminal litigation without the need for trial. However, when resolution short of trial is not feasable, I have entensive litigation experience.
l began my career as a Deputy District Attorney for the Fourth Judicial District encompassing El Paso and Teller Counties. While with the District Attorney’s Office, I served in a supervisory capacity, handling sensitive matters including careless driving resulting in death and sexual offenses. I took many cases to trial while at the District Attorney’s Office including DUI/DWAI, Domestic Violence, Juvenile, Felony Crimes of Violence, Sex Crimes, Theft, Weapons Charges, and Traffic Involving Death.
I left the District Attorney's Office to join a well respected firm in Douglas County, where I practiced primarily in the areas of domestic relations and criminal litigation. I dealt extensively with complex dissolution of marriage actions and serious criminal litigation, resulting in superior results for my clients. I joined Mr. Thomas in 2013 and continue my domestic relations and criminal litigation practices.
While pursuing my legal education, I interned for Hon. Elizabeth Kovachevich in the Federal District Court for the 11th Circuit in Tampa, Florida. I was also a litigation intern for the Department of Justice.
