Played on my emotions involving my son. Sethi law careless

I retained Sethi Law LLC for a serious, time-sensitive interstate custody/jurisdiction matter involving my child, and my experience was extremely disappointing. I hired the firm because I needed urgent filings, clear strategy, and actual courtroom representation. Instead, I experienced repeated de...lays, vague responses, poor communication, and a lack of follow-through. No Notice of Appearance was filed in my New York case, even after I retained the firm and repeatedly asked for confirmation. When my court date came, I was told no New York licensed attorney was available and that I should try to get an adjournment myself. I had to appear in court alone after paying for representation. Throughout the case, I was repeatedly told things were “done,” “ready,” or would be filed soon, but I often was not given filed copies, proof of filing, or clear confirmation of what had actually been completed. My calls, emails, and texts were often ignored or answered vaguely. I was left chasing updates in a case involving my child. The same pattern carried over into the New Jersey side of the matter: delays, confusion, missed follow-through, and excuses after important dates had already passed. In my experience, the firm did not show the urgency, organization, or reliability that a complex custody case requires. I retained this firm for a specific purpose: to help me recover custody of my son and properly handle the jurisdiction and enforcement issues. I do not believe they fulfilled that role. At critical moments, I felt unsupported and effectively unrepresented. If you are considering hiring this firm for a custody or jurisdiction matter, ask very specific questions about who will actually appear in court, when filings will actually be made, and how often you will receive real updates and proof of work. Based on my experience, I do not recommend Sethi Law LLC for a serious family law matter. Additionally, after I posted my review and demanded a full refund, I was told the firm was willing to return the full retainer only if I signed a separate agreement stating the matter was fully resolved and agreed to remove public reviews/statements. In other words, the refund was not offered unconditionally.
