I hired Maria after firing another lawyer for three criminal defense charges I was facing: DUI, hit and run and resisting. The original lawyer I hired sold themselves as the "best in town" for defense cases but from the get-go they wanted to settle. I believed I was "not guilty" of these charges beca...use in short, I had taken the wrong prescribed medication unbeknownst to me at 8:00 am which led me to drive erratically). The original lawyer wanted me to settle and the commonwealth attorney would drop 2/3 charges but I would have a DUI on my record for the rest of my life. I was extremely disappointed with these "top attorneys" in leesburg who I had explained I accidently grabbed the wrong medication that morning. They didn't care about me or what this would do to my life. Scared and not knowing what to do, I found Maria through a friend. The best thing about Maria is she listened and she heard me out. I know she believed me. She not only listened but gave me outstanding legal counsel. She gave me options including settling but I told her why this would not work. She fought very hard and did not back down and she was able to get the DUI dropped to Reckless and had the other two charges dropped. Maria made me believe in true "defense attorneys", attorneys who are there to defend you when you are wrongly charged and to help ensure that you are INNOCENT until proven guilty. Before Maria, I had to hire divorce/child custody. I wish I had Maria at that time as well as I know she would always work hard and give honest counsel that would help you and your child.
