I studied law at the University of Mississippi. During my time there, I won the Moot Court trial advocacy competition and was selected for Phi Delta Phi academic legal fraternity. I graduated from law school a semester early.
While studying at the University of Mississippi, I was active in theater productions and a featured performer in the University Production of "Vagina Monologues"
I took the Mississippi and the Tennessee Bar exams in February of 2009. After passing both of them, I searched for a job in a Public Defender's Office, where I knew I could both help people and best utilize my courtroom skills. Unfortunately, this is when the economy was at its worst, and there was a hiring freeze on all government hiring in both states. Ultimately I was asked to come to Florida to help my father's friend in Gainesville with a case between two Gatorade stockholders. I performed stand-up comedy in my free time. I learned that in Florida, if you are licensed and in good standing in another state, you can work as a Public Defender. I worked with the 7th Circuit Office of the Public Defender for 21/2 years while studying for, and passing, the Florida Bar. While at the PD's office I tried many cases (including felonies and misdemeanors) to successful verdicts and earned a good reputation as a fierce litigator.

I met Ms. Morris while she was a Public Defender and I was an Assistant State Attorney. Throughout our time working together I found her to be of the highest quality, both professionally and personally. She is a dilligent worker, an excellent trial attorney and has my complete endorsement.
