About me

I used to live an interesting life.  My wife and I had time to travel all of the world together, I read several books a week, and I even took evening Korean language classes.  But that all changed for the better (I think) when my wife and I had our two kids.  Now when I'm not attending to my clients, I'm changing diapers, praying for a good night's sleep, and wishing I had time to exercise.

I've been working in the law for a long time.  I started in 2000 with the University of Illinois at Chicago's Student Legal Services Department helping students with divorces, landlord-tenant disputes, and bankruptcies.  I then went on to investigate workers compensation fraud for the Research Consultants Group, assist on product liability lawsuits for Pfaff, Gill & Ports, Ltd., and advocate for military veterans at the Veterans Legal Support Center.  Today, my practice is focused on helping families civilly navigate the Illinois divorce process.

I am a graduate of the University of Illinois at Chicago and received my J.D. from John Marshall Law School.  During law school, I was accepted into the Phi Delta Phi International Honors Fraternity, was a member of the Law Review, and was named Best Oralist and Finalist (out of 287 competitors) in the Dean F. Herzog Moot Court Competition.

Never idle, I also volunteer my time at the DuPage County Pro Se Family Help Desk and the DuPage County Pro Se Night Court.  I've also recently published articles in the John Marshall Law Review and Veterans & Service Members Legal Bulletin.

If you're looking for more information on me I encourage you to read my full resume on LinkedIn, check out my profile on Google+, or follow me on Twitter at @AttyJeremiah.
