Bret and I came together under about the darkest of circumstances... and before Bret I had nothing but terrible experiences with lawyers. He was appointed by the court in my case. My case was extremely complicated, in the past, even hired lawyers had failed to make any progress. Not only did this bri...ght young lawyer step up to the plate, but his incredible passion to do the right thing over shadowed the fact that he was court appointed... Bret not only did an incredible job but he set a precedent for future litigation and a tort against the court itself in my behalf. The most incredible part of what Bret did for us is that as a direct result of his court actions, I gained a relationship with my then 16 yr old son of whom I had been kept from since he was 3. I will forever be indebted to Mr. Roberts, if for nothing else the gratitude I and our entire family feels for what he and his offices did for all of us. Thank you Bret, there is not enough money or words to express the thanks we have for you!

Bret Roberts represented my husband and I as a defense attorney regarding criminal issues we both faced out of Jefferson County Washington. He always responded promptly to our email or phone calls. Mr. Roberts went beyond the call of duty in conducting research for our cases, putting in time over the... weekend in order to fully be prepared to defend us. He was always very prepared for our court hearings. Mr. Roberts has a sharp mind and responds quickly during oral argument and always conducts himself professionally and respectfully in the courtroom. I was very impressed with the time he gave our cases with the horrendous workload he has as a public defender. I would not hesitate to hire Mr. Roberts in the event he ever went into private practice. We were so fortunate to be appointed an intelligent, dedicated lawyer like him.

"Just Plead Guilty" are words an innocent person never wants to hear. This attorney did not want to fight the injustice I was facing, and due to the fact that he was a state paid public defender, I was not in a position to argue. I am afraid that Bret has just become a cog in the prosecutors machine.... It is a sad day when a defense lawyer ties the blindfold over the eyes of themis himself. I would not recommend this attorney because he did not persue his clients wishes, and seemed to lack any motivation to cast the shadow of a doubt that clearly existed in my case. I would say his handling of this matter was lazy. My overall impression of Bret was that he was overworked and unhappy with his position as a public defender. Perhaps in a better paying environment he could reach his full potential.
