Will a speeding ticket of 80 in a 60 mph zone in Seattle , Washington show up on my Texas CDL license??: Late to airport, rental, traveling in diamond lane. Just honestly didn’t realize I was going that fast. I have CDL with Passenger endorsement I’m worried about.

Mitchell’s answer: Because of the interstate compact the answer is yes once it is found committed. You are not eligible for a deferral in WA as you have a CDL. You have 30 days to respond, and my suggestion would be to mark box #4 "contest" as this preserves your rights and gives you the opportunity to figure out how to proceed.

My suggestion would be to reach out to a traffic attorney, and we can make sure it gets dismissed and then it wouldn't affect your Texas record.

Following too close Washington State?: My friend had a fender bender and the police was called at the incident. There were VERY minor dents on both cars and the infraction says "NO" under accident.
When the police started investigating at the spot, my friend said that the car in front of him had stopped suddenly and with no choice he had to hit the car. The officer immediately issued a following too close ticket.
This is his first ticket in 14 years of driving history. Can the court dismiss on mitigation? Or does he need an attorney to contest? The ticket was 133$.
How long will this stay on his Driving License? How this record will be displayed on my driving record? How much should I expect attorney fees for contest? Please advise

Mitchell’s answer: First, it woukd be helpful to know the Court.

Your friend does not need an attorney to contest, but that gives him the best chance.

The Court will not dismiss on mitigation, but he might be eligible fora deferral.

The cost for an attorney is $250-350.

Am I able to do anything with regards to construction behind my house?: Hello,
So we have a quiet little neighborhood and in the middle of this is a lot which is 1.75 acres and they are putting in an industrial park. They are using our little street with kids and bus stops for their traffic as well. The city council has told us there is nothing we can do. I am not understanding this since it is in the middle of multiple homes. Now the construction has started and I am home most days and it is shaking the whole house and giving me headaches. I sigh in relief when it stops and feel like I can breathe again. Is there anything we are able to do? With the noise of the fact, they are using a street with kids on bikes riding to their friends during the summer.

Mitchell’s answer: Hello,
This question is in the wrong location for the subject matter. I would ask it again in land use, city planning or real estate.

It appears the issue might be zoning and if the property is zoned correctly for an industria park, the City Council may be correct in terms of there nothing that they can do. However, you might reach out to the City planning division to see if there is anything that they can do or if there is a way to potentially mitigate the disruption.
