But, your case will be referred to Immigration Court - where you will put in removal proceedings and then you will be able to apply for a defensive asylum application. Marriage visa, NVC received all the requested documentation 4 months ago,now what?: I am currently awaiting updates regarding my visa through marriage case. On May 1st 2018, I received an e-mail stating that all required documentation has been received and I am currently in the queue. The letter states that "most appointments are set within 3 months of NVC’s receipt of all requested documentation" keep in mind, this letter was received May 1st,2018. We are approaching October 1st. In this case it will be 5 months from NVC receiving all required documents. What are the steps I can take, if any also should I be concerned of the extended wait period?
