How do I report a company that is not following the Illinois Ban the Box law?: I'm applying at Burger King at the moment, and I notice that it's asking me about my criminal past. However, for what I understand, if it has over 15 employees, it's illegal for it to ask me about my criminal past. I want to report the company. How do I do this? I tried to find information online, but I couldn't find any.

Cynthia’s answer: "Ban the Box" laws typically require that employers consider a job candidate's qualifications first, without the stigma of a criminal record. If you are still in the pre-offer stage of the hiring process and feel as if your rights have been violated, contact an experienced employment lawyer for a consultation.

Do I suppose to get a W2.: I work for a Doctor, who owned his company but rented. He retired and another Doctor took over the company. After a year this 2017, he fired me. He claims I'm not entitled to unemployment, also he didn't give me a W2. As my previous employer did. Can he do that. And will I get into trouble for not filing taxes,or do I file self employed. I'm not sure what he has done, as he did pay with a company check that has the company's name on it. Stating part-time.

Cynthia’s answer: For your unemployment benefits, the Illinois Department of Employment Security (IDES) determines if you will receive unemployment benefits. You should contact IDES online, over the phone or in person to inquire about your eligibility. For any tax matters you can try asking for the W2 again or at the vey least an explanation for why you didn't receive it. If you still need assistance, considering contacting an experienced employment attorney.

How do i go about this situation of whether I have a valid case or not: I had been suspended from my job for a week and during that suspension I had gotten terminated the suspension was for tardiness. Is it possible that they can terminate me on suspension. Also there is cases sexual harassment the boss has said many things to me such as he can't do something for me because I don't have a v*****a and other things along those lines. Another part for the tardiness if any of the female workers were late they would contact them in regards of where they were and how long they will be but they said they are not gonna call me becausr I'm a guy and give a f*** less if I'm there or not. I don't have hard evidence and the mics around the work place could have picked something up and would other coworkers words be strong if they witnessed or had any form of sex discrimination or sexual harassment.
