In the state of Alabama can dhr refuse to give custody back or use our new marriage against us? : We just got married last week in an attempt to not allow dhr to rip our family apart. Could they not give custody back to my husband if they find an issue with me or vise versa?

Amber’s answer: Anytime DHR is involved in your family, it can be difficult to get them back out of your lives. Whether or not your marriage will impact your DHR case depends a great deal on why DHR was involved with your family initially. If you do not already have an attorney, I highly recommend you hire one. DHR is not your friend in these situations.

If i start a 1099 form in alabama will my child support order i have in ohio find out ?: If I have a child support order in ohio will they be able to see I'm working a 1099 in alabama?

Asked about 3 years ago in Child Support

Amber’s answer: Unfortunately, the answer to your question is "it depends." Even if you have a 1099 position, your child support does. not stop. You will owe the money. You still have to file income tax returns each year. If the State of Ohio seeks to enforce or modify your child support order in the future, you will likely be required to produce income tax returns, and that income should appear on your return.

How can you get divorced if spouse is in Mexico ? No communication for 15 years. No minor children.: Married 25 years ago in Mexico. I moved to USA 15 years ago. We separated. No minor children. No contact. How can I get a divorce?

Amber’s answer: As the other attorney mentioned, you can still get divorced even if your spouse is in another country. Where was he when you last saw him? Do you have any way of contacting him? If you don't have any minor children and no property or financial accounts together, the process can be fairly simple, but it is very fact specific.
