What does Order granting D/mot to continue mean: I have an ongoing court case in pinellas county & on the docket it say granted d/motion to continue what does that mean

Asked over 1 year ago in General Practice

Robert’s answer: Hi. This simply means that the court has pushed back some type of hearing or other event in the case. There should be also information about rescheduling either in the order or in a motion that may have been filed if the court did not do the continuance on its own. Good luck!

Are there any attorneys located in FL that are familiar with the wedding industry that could help or redirect me to someone?: I'm starting a business in the wedding industry and I'm looking for an attorney in Florida to help with writing legal contracts for services offered.

Robert’s answer: A good plan to have a good attorney working on your documents. This will limit the chances of future lawsuits or disputes over contracts and if such a dispute arises you have a solid agreement to protect you as much as possible. Any business lawyer should be able to help you and your best bet is probably to go with an experienced small to medium size firm. I suggest this for several reasons including that the cost will be significantly lower than hiring a large law firm and at a small firm you are more than a number and thus you will get the service and attention you need. Good luck!

I need to learn how investment funds determine the value of an investment in a start-up.: I am looking to launch two funds, an entertainment based fund and a technology fund.

Robert’s answer: You are starting the right way by doing some research but you may need to put together a more specific idea of what you are trying to achieve. Are you starting a company and looking for investors or trying to start an investment fund or two? Do you want seed capital, assistance with the company, etc? Any hedge fund or other investment fund is going to wonder how you plan on giving every waking moment to two separate companies when they will expect you to spend all your time on the one they invest in. More info is needed here to give you any kind of advice since you are asking about who
Lay different things, it seems.
