If I agreed to sign a bifurcation but he took 2 months to prepare the document but wants to back date do I have to agree with th: Getting divorced and he wants me to sign a bifurcation but he wants to back date it a couple of months. I want the date current. Do I have to agree with the date and sign it
Diana’s answer:
Definitely not. The divorce date usually determines when assets are divided. I'd only agree to an earlier date if you are ok dividing all the assets then. Also, you're not required to agree to anything, so you can set whatever terms you like to agreeing.
Best wishes.
Are there any lawyers in Utah who specialize in custody battles against someone who displays narcissistic behavior?: My soon to be ex husband has a lot of behavior that matches the behavior of a narcissist. Although I don’t think he is full blown narcissist, he is very good at charming people and manipulating situations in his favor.
Diana’s answer:
I'm sorry you're dealing with a divorce, and with a difficult soon-to-be ex.
Frankly, almost every divorce attorney in Utah has a large number of cases dealing with "narcissistic behavior," and most have a few cases at any given time dealing with diagnosed "narcissists." It's a common issue. Whether that's because there are a lot of narcissistic people these days, or just that it's the catch word of the day to describe selfishness, I'm not certain. Regardless, we're all seeing a lot of it.
Best wishes in moving on from a bad relationship!
In UTAH How do I file for an extension when replying to a divorce from what I understand I only have 21 days to reply.: So my wife ripped the kids out of the house like three weeks ago she filed for divorce and it took her over a week to serve me and in the meantime my grandma and grandpa which are pretty much my parents they raise me found out that my grandma has a really big tumor on her brain it’s cancerous and she won’t make it more than six months my grandpa was up in Salt Lake visiting her driving home late that night and got in a car accident had to be life flighted he’s bleeding internally and because of his health condition they cannot do surgery because he will not make it out and now they found out he has water on his lungs so I’m going to lose both of them very shortly my grandpa sooner than my grandma sounds like they were also where I was getting my money for legal counsel so I just need to file an extension to be able to figure out something else and be able to obtain a lawyer considering we have children and she is trying to go after full custody Along with tons of other stuff and screw me every way possible
Diana’s answer: I'm so sorry you've going through such a difficult situation! If she has an attorney, email and ask for an extension of 30 days. If you get it from him in writing, you're set. Then hire an attorney, ASAP. I'd suggest Sherri Walton at my firm. 801.838.8900.
