Not a fighter

Scott was more interested in getting a plea agreement and didn't fight for me. Stopped responding to requests and more of a rabbit than a shark. Look around before hiring him.

Excellent Criminal Defense Attorney

I was contacted by a sheriff's deputy with false allegations against me. As someone with a clean record who has never dealt with the court system I was quite frankly terrified. After reaching out to half a dozen attorneys and having more than one refer me to Scott I retained him for a very reasonable... price. He immediately contacted the prosecuting attorney assigned to the case and ensured that the police report was closed without any charges being pressed. Scott provided sound legal advice and much needed peace of mind at a chaotic point in my life. Being new to the criminal justice system I had many questions and he answered them quickly in a detailed and knowledgeable manner. He is an excellent lawyer and I recommend him without hesitation.

The Very Best Defense

Sadly, this story may seem very familiar. After a few beers at the baseball game, I forgot to turn on my vehicle lights, got pulled over and my life instantly turned into a living nightmare. I couldn't sleep or eat, worrying about how badly I had messed up. This was the first time I had ever been arr...ested and had no idea what to expect (I hadn't even received a speeding ticket in over 30 years). After consulting friends and family, we all came to the conclusion that a lawyer was needed to get through the impending storm. After researching the many DUI lawyers available in the Spokane region, something kept pulling me back to Mr. Scott Staab. I made the call (on a Saturday morning, no less), and I am so glad I did. From the very first contact, Mr. Staab put me at ease, was very empathetic/non-judgmental, and immediately helped calm my worst fears. I cannot emphasize how important this initial contact was. Believe me...I know I was wrong to drive after drinking, and the guilt and shame I felt was immeasurable. Mr. Staab helped me put things into perspective, and created a reasonable/achievable plan for my defense. He was with me during the first hearing and was there standing by my side during the last. He even provided me with his personal cell phone number in case I had questions/concerns (24/7 - day or night). Long story short...after doing everything Mr. Staab suggested along with his extensive experience in defending cases like mine, we were able to get my DUI reduced to a charge of negligent driving 1 (and he kept me out of jail). My family and I can't thank Mr. Staab enough for his consultation and support during this very difficult time. Because of Mr. Staab, I can now own what I have done, and begin to make amends without entirely ruining my life. I know it may sound cliche, but you need a lawyer to go through the DUI process. I witnessed the chaos of our court system first-hand, and would not have wanted to deal with this alone and uninformed. As such, I can't recommend Mr. Staab highly enough. Make the call like I did...you will be glad.

DUI attorney

For the amount paid, I felt very alone throughout this process. Initially he was concerned with getting his payment first (which is understandable) but then afterward I felt very confused and alone. As a client I should not have felt like a bother to my lawyer, nor should I have had to remind him mul...tiple times to send things to my probation officer. I get lawyers are busy, but they should make their clients feel taken care of (especially when they are young and alone).

This is a very unfair rating. I know that the client's DUI was reduced to a non-DUI offense and that probation officer's have their probationers sign "releases" so they can get their hands on documents they need from evaluating agencies etc. I go out of my way to give my client's the best representation and contact information - which included my phone number, my email, and in this case, even my cell phone number so that my client was always kept up to date. This particular case required substantial additional work communicating with University officials to protect the client's interests and was done at no additional cost. I'm very sorry she doesn't feel like she was represented well. I don't think I've ever had a bad client review and I work very hard to help people out of their legal jams.
