Mr. Swinney was my assigned counsel and from other attorneys in the court had a decent reputation. Throughout my case I thought his intentions were good until things started going downhill and he admitted to lying to me (in front of witnesses) in order to get me to take a deal and told us that he was sorry for lying, the prosecuting attorney was just putting an immense amount of pressure on him to "drive-it-in.". After I fired him he came to me at the next hearing and apologized and asked if it would be okay if he were to speak on my behalf, which I made the grave mistake of saying yes to.
