Wrongly Accused DV Case

On July 3 this year, an argument with my wife happened. Not to go into details, but I had been asleep in my room for hours as my wife continued to become more intoxicated than she already was. She decided to call the cops because she was mad about something else, I was woken up by 3 Sheriffs and take...n off even though I was innocent. This sent my life into a nightmare. I was in jail for 3 days, then put on a no contact order with my spouse. I have served a flawless military career for 22 years and you know that can turn for the worst with one hiccup or mark on your record. I needed a lawyer and one quick to make sure the charge of DV assault 4 did not stick. I read reviews around the area and decided to go to Bret. I am now dismissed with diversion, which is even better than what I hoped for. I was worried about the DV charge on a record, because here in the state of Washington, the prosecutors are man haters, and you're guilty until proven innocent. When I first met with Bret he told me he will stand right next to me through this horrible situation. He was as emotional about me succeeding and continuing on with my military career as I was. I will never go to another lawyer again as long as I live in this state. He was spot on the whole time and he truly had my back. Not only did he have my back, he reached out to me to see how I was doing after the case. If you read this review, stop here and pick him...he will not disappoint. An outstanding lawyer!

From hopeless to hopeful! Thank you, Bret!

Bret has been a godsend. His work and representation saved me from what I thought was a hopeless situation. It felt like the court and judges were against me, and Bret saved me from a wrongful conviction that would’ve changed my life negatively forever. The un-winnable case!

I don’t think anyone should have to go through the stress and nightmare of having to find a defense attorney but if you are ever put in that position to need one… there is no better person that Brett Woody. My husbands case was something you’d think out of a movie, a drunken fight between “friends” ...turned into a living nightmare. All the other attorneys scoffed at us when we told his story, “yeah I can’t help you.” “ there is no winning this.” “These charges are going to ruin your military career and you need to start understanding that”. These words were coming at us like daggers, fast and deep cutting. Our world and life was upside down. But Brett, when he heard my husbands story about what took place that night, He took the time to really listen and he said, “this is a tough one… but I am willing to fight tooth and nail to make sure your life and career are saved.” He listened even to me, the panicked wife unsure of what to do or how to support my husband. The charges were large, felony assault in the third degree… my husband faced a lot of jail time and the loss of his military career, a career that his has pursued since he was 17 years old.. The courts were fierce, the judge, and other prosecutors were harsh and judgmental and Brett made us feel calm in the face of this chaotic storm we were facing. Brett went out of his way to hire outside private investigators to help my husbands case and check out the outside stories/lies being said about my husband and this was vital When it came down to the trial. Brett was true to his word, he fought and was intelligent and precise with his words in defense of my husband, and the un-winnable case would turn this the entire jury found my husband not guilty and was acting in self defense… I know that if any other attorney was with us for this trial it would have not had the same outcome. He saved my husbands career and our lives.

One of a kind! Competent, Honest, & overall the BEST out there!

Bret really is one of a kind! He actually cares more about his clients than money. I hired Bret for a DVP case and he went above and beyond and exceeded my expectations. During my initial conversation with Bret, he listened, and showed compassion about my situation. He understood my situation and was... very clear on explaining things to me. Bret is competent, honest, determined, passionate, and very well-versed in the law. There was never a time I asked questions that Bret did not answer or explain to me to make sure I understand. It can be hard to find lawyers who truly care about their clients and not about getting paid. If I could give more than 5 stars I would. When I needed help or have questions after hours, it was never a problem for Bret.. he was there! My case settled and I got the results I wanted and I thank Bret for being there and helping me throughout the whole process. I would totally recommend Bret to anyone in need of legal representation. If you want a lawyer that brings results and not beat around the bush, Bret is your guy! :-)
