I was born and raised in Los Angeles to an immigrant Chinese father and an American-born Chinese mother. Growing up before the civil rights movement of the 1960s helped shape my sense of urgency to fight for justice for people in need. I spent my young adult years in the San Francisco Bay Area, where I earned my Bachelor's degree at UC Berkeley and Master's degree at San Jose State U. I had a 20-year career in public health, advocating for such groups as children in the foster care system and women and children living with HIV/AIDS.
In the year 2000, my husband and I moved with our two children to the Tacoma-area because of his work in family philanthropy. That's when I went to law school at Seattle University and graduated at the age of 50. The learning curve to becoming a skilled, responsible, and compassionate attorney was steep, but the rewards have been worth it. My clients need help, and I'm happy to assist whenever I can, at affordable fees.
My greatest accomplishments are a son with a law degree who works on cyber security and a daughter with a graduate degree in public health who is a food justice advocate. They have already outshined me in their good work!
