In July of 2015 I was arrested for DUI. I am an older person and this was the first time I'd ever been arrested for DUI. I did not realize how severe the mandatory minimum sentence for a DUI conviction is in Washington State and this caused me a great deal of anxiety. Dan was able to plea the DUI charge down to Negligent Driving by the time of my Preliminary Hearing which was a huge relief. I suspect there was a good chance Dan could have obtained a not guilty verdict had we gone to trial but I found the King County District Court system difficult and uncertain and I just wanted to favorably end my ordeal which Dan accomplished.
