I was audited in 2015 by a major insurance company in the Northwest, the results being a request for repayment in the amount of 100 K total.
I initiated with Nicole Li after the insurance company had gathered up all my chart notes, and come back with the findings that they had overpaid me the above amount for an approximate 18 months window.
My first meeting meeting with Nicole resulted in my requesting a narrower 365 day window as well as a request eventually that the extrapolation add ons be removed.
Quite quickly after these requests were made, they were granted, and amazingly, that reduced my overpayment request very substantially to about 1/4 the original request.
She was exceedingly helpful and generous and personable and I would recommend her 100% for anyone facing something like this.
Right before I signed the final agreement, she went through the legal settlement and reassured me at every turn that we had done very well, and that I was signing at the right time and with the right terms. I was very worried about it, and still am that it will lead to other audits and problems down the road, but talking with her, I have definitely had closure.
If anything like this ever happens again ( knock on wood) I will consult Nicole right away.
I am very grateful that the outcome of the investigation was as favorable as it was. She really helped me in the most gentle and reliable and supportive way. I have never before consulted a lawyer about anything, and I doubt that she does all kinds of law, but if ever I need a lawyer for the occasion, she will be the person that I seek out to point me in the right direction.

Nicole was with me every step of the way, through one of the scariest time in my 30 year nursing career. She saw the pain that an accusation can cause, even when the state is involved. After she said,"Don't worry", I didnt. And my reputation was upheld and my spotless record remains that way. I would trust Nicole with my license , just knowing she is a phone call away, makes going to work the best part of my day.

I first retained Ms. Li to represent me related to a Department of Health (DOH) investigation. Throughout that process I found Nicole to be very smart, very responsive, thorough, and resourceful. The investigation resolved with DOH finding no evidence of wrongdoing on my part.
Nicole then continued to represent me in a lawsuit that I filed against DOH to ensure that DOH protected my patients' confidential information that DOH collected as part of their investigation of me. Nicole's skills as an attorney resulted in fully securing our patients' information and me receiving my attorney's fees from DOH.
I extend to Nicole my highest recommendation, and do so without hesitation.

Nicole recently represented me in a case with the state medical board. She was exceptional in every way - not only in the beginning when she educated and reassured me, but also as the case progressed she was able to procure a settlement with very minimal consequences. She is very bright and knowledgable about the law, and is equally passionate about protecting the rights of the "little guy" against the big overstepping government. Her background in ethics is very beneficial when dealing with these issues as well. I can't say enough great things about Nicole and Peggy too. I feel like I not only won my case but now have a good friend. I highly recommend Nicole without reservation.

Nicole Li at great expense in time and money to herself won for me a historic case against the Washington State Board of Health.
There is no other attorney in the State of Washington who has accomplished such a feat.

I have a solo medical practice. She was referred to me by another attorney firm. I wanted answers to questions concerning forming a corporation in such a manner that I wouldn't expose myself to the risk of violating federal laws - specifically the anti-Stark and anti-kickback laws. Nicole was pleasant to chat with on the telephone. She told me to visit her website to learn more about her company. She assured me that either herself or one of her two assistant attorneys would manage my case. She sent me paperwork via email and I submitted a check to cover a retainer. It was then that things went sideways ...
10 days elapsed without communication aside from confirming that she received the $2000 check. I finally received an email from her explaining that " please note that this is an extremely complex, high stakes area of law. While the facts appear simple on the surface, the legal issues are not always straightforward. A full analysis will take some time to ensure we give you accurate advice. Depending on how our initial analysis goes, we may recommend at some point getting a second view." I responded with "I have selected your company as you have an expertise in this matter. If you think that it will be too complicated then let me know now and I can hire a different law firm. I don't understand why I would pay twice to receive the same service." Her assistant attorney responded 4 days later with "Nicole asked me to get back to you as she is out of town. You are welcome to consult with another firm for this matter." I responded with "i want a personal phone call from Nicole to discuss this matter. it can wait until she returns.". I never heard back from Nicole.
I felt mislead by Nicole. I wish she had just told me that from the start so I didn't waste 14 days until she sent the email informing me that they would need help from a more experienced law firm. Second, I felt neglected when her firm so quickly threw me to the curb simply for standing up for myself. If it was truly that complicated why didn't Nicole tell me that during our first conversation (she possessed all the facts surrounding the formation of the company at that time). Third, it's extremely unprofessional to have an assistant attorney dismiss a client when my relationship had been with Nicole Li.
I quickly called up an established law firm who told me they don't handle this matter but referred me to another law firm that did handle it. This attorney was quick to take my phone call, explain to me what would be the key issues and gave me an estimation of what it would cost.

Nicole's very human, sympathetic ear combined with her lightning fast responsiveness and obvious legal acumen can make a very stressful legal situation feel manageable. I enjoyed working with her, her fees were extremely fair, and she was so helpful to me and successful with my case that I would recommend her to anyone.

Nicole Li is awesome! She is the best attorney I have worked with for many years. I am a doctor in alternative medicine. An insurance company once audited us and required us to refund over $140,000. It is ridiculous but it happened. The company is very demanding and tough to deal with. Luckily enough, I found Nicole Li. After I hired her, I learned that she has very good strategies to manage the case and approach whoever you deal with. Nicole is also passionate and professional. She represented us to negotiate with the company and made a peace. I even could not believe the case was settled with such a good result. She saved our business and helped us have survived. I now can focus on my business again. Thank you, Nicole!
