About me

Lisa Ellis brings value to clients by providing individualized service and fifteen years of experience to help clients achieve their immigration goals. Her firm assists businesses, families and individuals with employment-based, family-based, naturalization, and global migration.  Lisa is the author of the book Visa Solutions for International Students, Scholars, and Sponsors: What You Need to Know published  by Thomson Reuters/Aspatore.  Lisa speaks regularly on immigration topics nationally and regionally. She was selected as a Rising Star by Washington Super Lawyers and is the current Chair of the AILA Board of Publications Committee.

After graduating from the University of Oregon School of Law, Lisa was an Attorney Advisor for seven immigration judges at the Executive Office for Immigration Review, a position she entered through the U.S. Attorney General's Honors Program. Prior to entering private practice, she also was a law clerk for the Honorable Robert H. Whaley at the U.S. District Court of Eastern Washington and a Trial Attorney for the U.S. Federal Defender's Office of Eastern Washington and Idaho where she handled a wide-range of immigration matters. In private practice, Lisa was the immigration attorney of a full-service Seattle law firm for nearly nine years prior to founding Ellis Immigration Law, LLC.

A native of the Seattle area, Lisa lived in Australia and has traveled to 26 countries to date. Lisa believes the best outcomes for clients can be achieved through individualized representation, inspired collaboration, and exceptional service.
