I was accused of assault with a deadly weapon for defending myself in a domestic violence incident in my own home. Mr. Swabby never doubted my innocence and he didn't back down from the prosecution. He stood up for me and didn't take any nonsense. He's very passionate about his job and a very caring man. He was always there to reassure me things were going to be alright. If you're innocent and you want an attorney you can trust I would definetely reccomended Mr. Swabby.
And for the record I did not hire this attorney, he was court appointed. So even though he was pro bono he still treated me like a paying client. I had never been in trouble with the law prior to this and I was very leary about this. He did amazing. I owe him my freedom. I will never forget what this man did for me and how well he treated me when so many others were trying to prosecute me to the fullest.

Met Chris in 2012 when he was assigned to me. Then he was removed due to firm change. I was charged with getting out of my bed which I shared with my wife and touching a girls breast at 5am. The police called us 2 days after she left our home and interviewed me, my wife, and our daughter. And we thought that was it. 3 months later my home was surrounded and I was arrested, tried, convicted and given life without parole. On appeal the sentence was found unconstitutional and my family retained Chris for resentencing with what they could scrape together. Chris always treated me with utmost respect. He personally went to our home and took pictures and investigated the outlandish charge. When contacted 4 years later he still had those pictures on his phone. He respected me as a man and took my legal research from prison and my personal work with utmost respect. I am now out and although the state continues to fight so do I. If I had unlimited funds I would pay this may whatever he needed to have. I do not. But behind the scenes he is still there, and still caring, and still trying to bring about justice for me. I have come to love him like a brother and respect him above any and all I have ever met in the legal system. Thank you Christopher Swaby.

I was accused of sexually molesting a minor in my own family home!
As soon as I learned about the charges, I obtained Chris to represent me. The case took 2yrs & from the start I had so many factors stacked against me. English is not my first language, I had only been in the states less than a year and other than my son, his wife and my grandchildren, I was practically alone and knew no one.
I remember when I first went into the law office; everyone was kind and professional and even though the charges were unjust and heinous, I never felt like I had to prove my innocence.
From day one, Chris kept me well informed of every move, motion and paper he filed. At my request he allowed my son and daughter-in-law to be involved so I could and would always understand what was happening every step of the way.
It wasn't always easy for me to understand and trust what Chris was saying to me throughout my case, I constantly questioned his decisions; but even so he always took the time to explain and made sure that I truly heard and understood what was being said and why. It was the most important thing Chris did for me, he built trust.
Besides WINNING my case against the State, the most important thing Chris gave me was his word and belief.
He believed in me, as much as I believed in myself. He trusted my words, when I told him that I didn't do it, and I trusted him when he gave me his word that he would do everything in his power to make sure I wasn't prosecuted for a crime I didn't commit.
On the last day of my trial, after the jury voted unanimously that I was innocent, we were able to do an interview with the jurors; basically we were able to ask them questions about how they came to their decision and talk some about the case. 3 of the jurors came to Chris and I and said to us the following statement, "we believed you were innocent for many reasons, but the number 1 reason we believed you were innocent was because we could tell that your lawyer truly believed in you!" I looked at Chris and he was brought to tears by their words. He stood up immediately and said, "YES!!! I do believe him and in him!!"
I don't think I'll ever be able to thank Chris enough for his job well done.
If you need a defense attorney hire Chris Swaby! If you know you're innocent, hire Chris Swaby!
If you want someone who cares about you not your money; hire Chris Swaby!
Thank you Chris, you are truly one in a million!
Scott Johnson, Criminal defense Attorney
Relationship: Opposing Counsel on matter
When I was a prosecutor, there was one defense attorney I dreaded facing, Chris Swaby. His charm and intellect were such a potent combination that facing Chris always made a case much more difficult. Now, as a criminal defense attorney, I have an even greater appreciation for Chris's ability.
