I was impressed with Alex from the get-go. He's very personable but not arrogant like I thought an attorney would be. He seemed genuine and immediately gained my trust. It was a hard battle, but he fought for me every step of the way and won. At one point I was ready to quit, but he talked me off... the ledge. He just seemed to know exactly when and how much aggression to apply to them. And he was so responsive to me.

I had a 1-hr consultation by session with Alex. He is knowledgeable but he is way too passive type. Now, I am hearing from another lawyer that I should have proceeded with a lawsuit. He seems to discourage a lawsuit which might fit to some clients. Also, he told me to ask my questions over email afte...r our sessions but he didn’t answer my question. Don’t waste your time and money.

I hired Alex Higgins to help with a settlement negotiation I was doing with a former employer and EEOC. I thought I would improve my position this way. However, the opposing counsel withdrew from negotiations immediately after Alex wrote his initial letter to them. Alex did not give me copies of doc...uments and did not keep me updated regarding actions he took in my case. He made critical decisions in my case without even consulting me. If I disagreed with him about these things he sent me documents stating he was motioning to withdraw from my case, although he had no legal basis to withdraw. He farmed my case out to another attorney stating it was not worth enough money to him. I did not feel he was honest with me on several occasions, He was clearly interested in making money rather than addressing the ethical issues in my case. He had very poor communication with me and opposing counsel both, and seriously underestimated the monetary value of my case. I would not recommend Alex Higgins.
