I was randomly contacted by a police detective who wanted me to admit to a crime I did not commit. The detective refused to give me the details of the case, but expected me to explain everything to him. I contacted Chloe Anderson a criminal defense attorney at BJ Attorneys in Seattle, WA. Ms. Ande...rson and one of the partners met with me at the law firm to discuss the detective phone calls as soon as possible. I was unsure of exactly what I was charged with or if I was charged with anything and did not know much of what was going on. To make it worse, I did not recall/remember much of who the person was including what they look like, their name or where the incident occurred. It was hard to explain to Ms. Anderson my side of the story because I barely knew much. Ms. Anderson got in touch with the detective and found out that it was related to a sex crime. It was extremely hard, upsetting, uncomfortable, and emotional to be accused of a sex crime at the Federal level. Ms. Anderson, helped me through the process and was with me when I made my statement to the best of my knowledge. Ms. Anderson was very helpful, considerate, and compassionate through the process. The two prosecutors did not pursue charges against me. Then almost two years later the person who made the false report contacted me. I am unsure if the person was by themselves, with someone else, or a detective, but I did not answer. I told Ms. Anderson about it and Ms. Anderson quickly stopped what she was doing on her day off work and contacted the person to inform them to go through her and her law firm.
