Sutkus Law Firm helped with my divorce case, which at times ended in very different direction/decisions then I would have presumed, but for the most part, I was pleased with. Both Laura and Fabian were very knowledgeable, efficient, and honest. I was thoroughly impressed throughout my experience and would recommend this office to family and friends.

Laura Sutkus provided me with great representation through a lengthy and contentious divorce. She started out advising me as a pro se client, and then when my case failed to reach a settlement, she represented me through several rounds of mediation and arbitration. She and her paralegal are communicative, proactive, knowledgable, and fair. She also has a great sense of humor. I recommend her strongly.

Thank goodness I had Laura as my attorney! You see I just finished my divorce after 18 months, several trips to court, mediation, arbitration, the works. My wife had threatened me that she would take me to court, try to get 100% custody of our child and make it miserable on me if I tried to divorce her. Laura was on top of my case every step of the way and she kept me reassured. She made the process a lot less intimidating. Laura's strategy led to a 50/50 residential schedule 50%! That was my number 1 priority and Laura made it happen. My daughter and I thank you Laura! She is fantastic and I highly recommend her!

Poor advice to me as the high-net worth individual. Dishes out the same advice to everyone who comes along. Gets you in and out.
-Slow and inaccurate responses. A lot of mistakes in the paperwork that I ended up pointing out and correcting. Ultimately done correctly and quick (relative for Washington state)
-"Just accept the deal" this is what everyone gets. I learned too late from other men and women in my particular situation that I should have gone to court on this divorce. I will now pay for a very long time to my former spouse. All three of the others in my situation (and yes each case is different) are not paying support.
-I took Laura on after looking at reviews and advice from a friend who was using her for their divorce. They ended up working with another lawyer for the same reasons as I mentioned previously.

Laura helped me with a Protection Order that was complicated and needed to be processed very fast. She was super. Laura is very fast at doing what she does, she is very matter of fact (i.e. no bs), very personable and very effective. She was always very sensitive of our budget and continously suggested ideas by which we could avoid costs etc e.g. by filling forms ourselves etc. We had worked with other attorneys before and didn't make much progress - Laura had it all wrapped up in a matter of days. Would definitely use her again.

Laura helped me with two divorces and various child care issues over a period of around 17 years and I could not be happier. Laura was always concerned for keeping my expenses down by trying to come to an agreement with the opposing lawyer. It seemed as if Laura does not want to make any money off of me, the bills could have been a lot higher with other lawyers I believe. The advice I got from her always helped me to make the best decisions for my future which always proved true over the years. Laura is extremely sharp and professional, any questions I ever had were answered in great detail. Whenever I called, I was never deferred to call back later or have to wait for her to get back with me, this was a very welcome part of dealing with Laura - she was always there for me!!! With no doubt, I trust Laura completely and highly recommend her to anyone who is seeking a lawyer for life.

Ms. Sutkus is a very practical, no-nonsense, sharp attorney well versed in many areas of the law, but most specifically "family and divorce" law. She is empathetic and highly responsive. I found her to be a strong advocate in a difficult case. I would highly recommend her.

I've been recommending Laura Sutkus ever since my divorce finalized over a year ago. During what proved to be an exceptionally long and difficult divorce, it was incredibly reassuring to work with someone so well-respected by her peers, and so committed to my case. At the outset, she represented me as my lawyer and later, she agreed to coach me as I represented myself “pro se.” I appreciated her flexibility in providing her services “unbundled,” which made it possible for me to continue with my case where otherwise, I would have been unable to do so.
Initially, Laura was recommended to me by a family lawyer who was on a sabbatical. In her estimation, Ms. Sutkus is the finest family lawyer in Seattle, the person this lawyer would choose should she need representation. She cited Laura's competence, preparedness, and ability to persuasively argue her clients' concerns in court. In the course of my divorce, I was consistently told by other lawyers (and by my ex-wife) that Laura had a stellar reputation as one of the best in the business. My divorce case was both long and complex, but working with Laura gave me a sense of calm and control in a challenging process that could otherwise have been overwhelming.
In particular, Laura proved to be incredibly well-versed in the field of family law. She has instant recall of specifics helpful to our case, and was able to to quickly grasp each relevant fact as it pertained to my case's larger legal arguments. She is naturally persuasive–a skill that obviously translates to the courtroom. In addition, Laura is a highly principled person; I felt confident in her ability to create a fair and reasonable outcome, steering a straight course while diffusing unnecessary conflicts. Her logic and professionalism allow her to cut to the essence of a matter almost intuitively, sidestepping the pitfalls of reactive endeavors. Her talent is creating the reasonable, mutually beneficial option, one which neither overreaches nor concedes unnecessarily.
Laura has a steady drive to see the case through to its resolution, a rare and admirable characteristic. She did not wait for me to prompt her to move the case forward; instead, she was always aware of, and planning for, the next action date in our case's schedule. In addition, I always felt like Laura was mindful and respectful of my time, communicating quickly and clearly what was necessary for the next step.
Although divorce is hard, complex, and difficult, working with someone like Laura went a long way toward making it as positive an experience as it could be. She left me with a sense of accomplishment, knowing that our actions were focused on creating the best possible outcome for my family.

Divorce is a very difficult and emotional time in a persons life. Laura is supportive, reassuring and calming. She is also firm, confident and thoroughly understands the law. Laura made sure I understood the process and kept me informed every step of the way. She always watched out for my best interests and listened to me when I had concerns. I don't know where I'd be if I had not trusted her and followed her advice. Laura is highly ethical, professional and simply follows the law. Other professionals (mediator & financial planner) she referred me to were great as well. I would (and do) recommend her in a heartbeat! Thank you Laura!
