My sister in law was pulled over for her 1st DUI 2 years ago, second 2 months ago... pulled over on a suspended a week ago. going to court for second DUI next month.
This is an easy question to answer because the struggle is for the attorney that you decide to work with. Properly handling DUIs is an art. Society is obsessed with DUIs and while drinking and driving is legal.
Call many of the fine lawyers on this list and speak with them in person for free to see who is a good fit for you to work with.See question

You may be eligible for an Ignition Interlock License in Washington State. I would call any of the highly qualified attorneys on this site and ask them for your options. They will be more able to help you because they work in your jurisdiction.See question
I've already done the 45 day suspension. I've got a conditional license with interlock for a year however I drive a company vehicle and NC doesn't require one in a company car. I have a clean yet expired wa license. can i go renew it ?
Mr. Foote answered your question well. You may confirm the status of your license with Washington State at their website, which is well organized. Here is the link to get the status of your license or to order an ADR, which is an abstract of your driving record. This document will tell you if Washington has the new out of state conviction data yet.
Remember that Washington now has an Ignition Interlock License that allows you to drive with a suspended license.

My felony charge was a plea bargain, was put on probation which was violated and was sentenced to 2 years in prison and actually served 10 months. among a variety of misdeamer charges on my record could i get my record exponge and or would it matt...
It is likely difficult. I am not licensed in your state to practice there but in Washington State you must remain crime free for many years following the end of all jurisdiction to "vacate" or "expunge" any criminal history. Its hard to answer your question directly because we don't know several things such as what the charges were. It matters sometimes in Washington what the order of the convictions were.
I suggest you call one of the many fine attorneys on this web site and speak with them. It will be a free consultation most likely and should get you some good information with a simple phone call.

I am 18yrs. old & can't afford an attorney for a city citation of under age drinking. I was told by the city lawyer at the county court house that I couldn't get a public defender because it was a city ordinance. I never even got to talk to a r...
Call the local attorneys on this web site. It is not true that you can't get counsel to assist you if you are charged with a DUI. DUI's are serious offenses that involve jail in most jurisdictions. I don't practice in your area and am not licensed to advise you on the law in your jurisdiction so call an attorney from the area off this website and they will explain the ways that the city attorney was incorrect or the possible miscommunication that you might have had.See question
have dui in wa but got pulled over in portland oregon for dui but not for alcahol
I'd love to explain this matter to you but its complicated by many factors such as which courts you are in. I could do a better job on the telephone. I have handled many cases like this and have one in particular right now which is very delicate. My guy is facing a felony charge as his matter is number five in ten years but one of the cases is from Oregon, which remains, at this point unknown to authorities here.
Put simply, all priors are a concern, especially recent matters that are a violation of conditions of release while cases are pending.See question

DUIs stay on your record for many years and depend on the local state law. Washington has a horrible law that prevents one from ever removing it from your record. California? I don't know. I cannot afford a lawyer to represent me. I'm a pt employee and ft student. Not sure what to do. Friend suggest I call the arresting officer and kiss his butt, other friend says to go to pros att. and ask for the evidence against me. I'm lost???
I only practice in Washington but all jurisdictions treat DUIs very seriously and so counsel should be consulted. You can get a lot of information for free doing initial consultations. DUIs are a charge that most judges won't let you handle without an attorney because the consequences are so serious you are likely to come back later and ask for your plea to be reversed.

You are about to experience the criminal court system. The first thing to do is begin consulting with criminal DUI attorneys in your jurisdiction. Lenny Stamm is very good out there but I'm not sure how far you are from his area in MD.
In most states (I practice in Washington State only) DUIs are very serious and often permanent convictions that preclude you from traveling to Canada. Often there are mandatory jail sanctions, license suspension, Ignition Interlock devices etc.

I am licensed in Washington State but generally any conviction should be fought very hard if you want to be an officer. If prior convictions are allowed in your state then imagine the cross examination you would face from defense attorneys. Talk about fun!
