I entered Law School and the Practice of Law in my mid-40s, and have found that I really enjoy it. I find a great satisfaction in helping people resolve a problem. I also find that I really enjoy the need for flexible thinking required in working in the courtroom. After 10 years of practice, I feel that my experiences prior to entering the legal profession are a great asset in understanding the needs of my clients.
While I do maintain a small practice in other areas of the Law, my primary focus has been in civil speeding and traffic violations defense. Here again I feel that my prior experiences as a professional truck and delivery driver are a great asset. A focus on a single primary area of law does allow for a deeper understanding of the law, court procedures and variability between jurisdictions.
As much as I love what I do, I also feel that maintaining a balance in a person’s life helps with their ability to be most effective with their profession. As a child gowing up in Eastern Oregon I developed a love for activities in the great outdoors, which I maintain to this day. I also have a love of travel, having spent time traveling thoughout the Western US, Australia, New Zealand, Southwest and South Asia and Europe. I have lived overseas for several years after high school, along with Lake Tahoe for 5 years, Alaska for 20 years and now have lived in Seattle since 2001.
