Jim Holland is a lifelong Washingtonian and has walked in his clients shoes when his own insurance company tried to deny him life-saving medical care. He studied at University of Washington and at Oxford University. After graduating near the top of his class in law school Mr. Holland spent several years at the prestigious law firm of Perkins Coie practicing products liability and aviation accident defense litigation. He left the defense practice for the King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office where he tried more than thirty cases to local juries. After sharpening his trial skills as a prosecutor Mr. Holland returned to civil litigation, where he works for injured peope and families and has obtained substantial verdicts and awards, including a $5,000,000 settlement for a male nurse paralyzed from medical malpractice, a $3,500,000 settlement for an elderly woman paralyzed from medical malpractice, a $2,400,000 award for his client in a real estate partnership dispute, a $10,000,000 judgment for wrongful death, a $2,000,000 settlement against the Kent School District for injury to a student-athlete during a sports practice, a $1,300,000 settlement for over-service of alcohol leading to a catastrophic drunk-driving injury, a $1,000,000 settlement for chiropractic negligence, a more than $2,600,000 settlement against a drunk driver, a confidential settlement against a medical facility for improperly intubating a patient leading to death, and a confidential settlement against a medical facility for failure to timely diagnose a heart attack leading to premature and preventable death.

Mr. Holland currently focuses the majority of his practice on wrongful death and other personal injury actions, including products liability, medical negligence, car and truck wrecks, aviation crashes and insurance bad faith. Great experience

I was hit on my bike by a drunk driver who did not have insurance. Jim helped me navigate the mess that is insurance claims, and was able to get me a settlement that we both felt appropriate. He is experienced, caring, honest, supportive, helpful, and always accessible. Legal Representation

Greatest experience we’ve ever had working with a lawyer. Truly a genuine individual and made any and all efforts to relate and learn about my family and I as people and not just as clients. Outstanding Attorney

Knowledgeable and Realistic

Jim clearly presented our options for pursing our case, kept us abreast of the process and as the case proceeded, educated us on how the legal system works. Physician in Car Wreck

I am a physician and was hurt in a car wreck. Jim Holland is an excellent personal injury lawyer who gave me candid and practical advice on how to best protect my legal rights. Jim understands the medicine underlying each of his clients' personal injury claims, and is a strong and persistent advocate. Bicycle Hit and Run

Working with Jim was an eye opening experience in dealing with personal injury lawyers... Following a hit and run incident on my bicycle, I worked with another lawyer briefly, who seemed more interested how bad my injuries were than how to ensure my case was handled properly. I switched to work with Jim and his focus instantly became about ensuring we worked towards the best solution possible while moving methodically through the legal process. Jim kept me in the loop along the way and provided sound legal opinions. While no one wants to deal with a personal injury lawyer because it usually means bad things happened, the process with Jim went as smoothly as anyone could ever ask and I would highly recommend him if you are in need of legal counsel.

Car Accident / Malpractice

I was seriously injured in a roll over car accident and had several previous lawyers who were unable to resolve my case and in fact lost my right to compensation. Jim took over the legal malpractice case and from the moment he got on board he finally got me to a doctor who was able to figure out what was wrong with my shoulder (it had been years and nobody had been able to tell me what was going on), he also gave me a roadmap to my legal recovery. Jim skillfully worked my legal malpractice and automobile claims through the litigation process and produced an excellent result without having to go to trial. He cares deeply about his clients and his legal skill, ability, and judgment are beyond compare. Even more importantly, he’s a great human being and those with catastrophic injuries or who have lost loved ones would be lucky to have Jim Holland take their case. A Wired Diagnose Case

I recommend Jim as a lawyer if some are in real trouble following a crash. My case was a mess from the beginning. At fault was wrongful pointing me, being exactly the opposite. My injury wasn't typically broken bones it was a triple hernia that required surgery to get it fixed. I was lucky and recovered my health. Because of not typical injury, it was a hard to prove the case. Jim is very smart attorney worked with the doctors is such a way that we received six figures settlement without going through a trial hustle. He not only negotiated six figures settlement with the insurance but lowered the medical bills to 1/10 of what was billed originally! I hardly recommend this man because of his proven record, intelligence, and well balanced grounded advice that works for your interest, not for his pocket. Eugene

Professional With A Customer (Client) First Approach

I hired Jim to successfully secure a personal injury claim. Fantastic lawyer

I hired James after I was in an auto accident. I had a broken bone in my hand that required surgery so I was out of work for a few months. During that time James did everything he could to help me. I was always kept up to date with how the case was proceeding. Even though my case was smaller than ones James normally takes he never made it seem that way. I was never in the dark as to where we stood and he made sure I had a realistic expectation with my type of case. When we ended up settling with the other parties insurances he blew that expectation out of the water. I would absolutely recommend anyone and everyone that is looking for not just a quality lawyer, but a quality human being, to give James Holland a call.

Great lawyer

I was in a car accident and referred to a firm Jim worked at. I did not know the process of filing a claim. I met a person who was alway upbeat and cared about my condition. Couldn't be happier

I had an auto accident and was referred to James. He met with me in person to go over the details and he took it from there. He handled every aspect of my case and always kept me up to date. The outcome was much more than I expected and would absolutely refer all of my friends and family to him.

Amazingly dedicated and diligently committed

James or Jimmy boy as I liked to call him to make him feel a little younger.. ;) Was honestly by far the best lawyer I could have ever had. Back on September 10, 2014. After being at a local tavern a friend and I chose to walk home and be safe instead of drinking and driving. Sadly though others chose to drink and drive from the tavern. When my friend and I were walking home we were struck by a car traveling 35 MPH. My friend was killed, thankfully I survived howeverall my ligaments in my left knee were replaced or repaired and the nerve that feeds my should muscle aka my deltoid suffered a nerve palsy. Long story short Jim invested a significant amount of his time into my case. Jim was very diligent and meticulous with every little bit of my case. All said and done Jim was such an amazing lawyer he even got me my settlement money before the driver of the car has even had his criminal trial. That almost never happens. I always recommend Jim to family and friends and friends of friends. If you go with James Holland I promise you will be so thankful that you did!! O 1 last thing, Tell Jimmy boy (Jim). Andy the guy hit by a car said, "If I went with you then I would be happy with the results."

I Recommend James Holland If You Need A Good and Caring Injury Lawyer

Jim took over my case when my other lawyer left to take another job. I was a little worried about that, but Jim came right in, worked with me and my husband, and we had a great result. Best Personal Injury Lawyer in Seattle!!!

James took on my case in the middle after my original personal injury attorney took another job. Honestly, I was a little concerned and skeptical having someone jump into my case in the middle. James eliminated any concerns I had the first time I spoke with him! Not only was he already familiar with my case, he realized how difficult it is to wait years to reach a settlement and dug right into it. James is kind, compassionate and legitimately concerned with you as a person and how the accident affected your life! He got right on it and within a few months I had a substanstial disbursement that could not have come at a better time! The case is settled and Jim continues to work hard for me to get me the most while allowing me to relax and concentrate on recovering and regaining my pre-accident life while he handles all the final details. Although I sometimes felt like a bugged James endlessly, he was patient with me and always empathetic to my needs. He has the patience of a saint! The purpose of this review is to highly commend James Holland and to enthusiastically endorse him as a prospective attorney for clients who need legal assistance and are inclined to employ his services. My wife and I worked with Mr. Holland and other associates to litigate a partnership lawsuit. It was a lengthy, arduous process which took over a year to resolve. During the course of this effort and in our interactions with Mr. Holland, we determined that he is an incredible attorney who has an engaging personality coupled with a full grasp of the law and the extraordinary ability to argue salient points of our case relative to the law.
