I was recently ticketed for going 27 mph in a school zone. However, there were no children present and school was not scheduled to be out for over 10 minutes. If I contest this, will this information be helpful to getting the ticket dropped? I...
Children being present is not a requirement under the statute. I still get many school zone tickets dismissed on other grounds. The license violation is a separate, non-moving violation. If it is dismissed it would have to be on other grounds.See question
The date printed on ticket was 11/16/12, but I was cited today (10/16/12). I'm wondering if this is enough for me to fight it on my own, or should I pay lawyer's fees to have someone else handle it?
It is always better to have an attorney representing you. When you represent yourself you are held to the same standard as being a lawyer. This is an interesting issue, but ultimately could be rejected by a Judge as being a "scrivner's error". I would be happy to help you. Just send me an email.See question
So i got a 1 speeding ticket in second week of April. Took the deferred finding option and payment is due tomorrow August 14 but unfortunately i got another ticket last week. The state trooper said I will get the mail in ticket so not exactly sur...
No. You cannot cancel your payment once you have agreed to the terms of the deferral. You can retain me for the new ticket and as long as this one is dismissed it will not affect your deferral.See question

the officer said in his report that he id me by a old booking photo from over a year ago. I have not lived or been in the town for over 2 years. I have not had any contact with a officer in that town for years. so how does this work? What do ...
You do not have to be issued a ticket at the scene. An officer has up to a year from the date of the infraction to issue you a ticket. There are many challenges to a ticket like this. Most of them are technicalities based upon the rules of evidence and other statutes and case law. If you fight this on your own you are held to the same standard as a lawyer. This is why it is very important to hire an experienced traffic lawyer to defend your case. Once you do, you will likely not even have to go to Court. In every case, the City has the burden of proving the case against you. You do not have to prove anything.See question
I received a citation ticket for parking towards the curb, instead of away from it at ~10p on a weeknight in Capitol Hill. I plan to contest this ticket and subpoena the officer. I might argue a) that there was no sign on the street about which ...
As you may know, parking tickets do not go on your driving record,so, this will not affect your insurnace rates. I win most tickets on technicalities rather than trying to disput the facts. Most often I do not subpoena the officer since they can elaborate on the report they prepared. If the officer does not say that this occurred on a hill then there is no requirement for you to have to turn your tires towards the curb.See question
While taking my wife to her mother's funeral in Kansas, I was issued a ticket in Nebraska for speeding 70 on a 60 mph highway. I am on Social Security and can't even afford health insurance. What can they do to my Washington license if I don't pay?
Since I am not a licensed NE attorney I cannot advise you of what the consequences are for failing to respond to the ticket. If it can result in a license suspension as it does in Washington, then you must pay it or risk being charged with the crime of Driving while license suspended in Washington.
Often, the Court will give you time to pay in smaller payments.
