I hired Mr. Pickard to represent me in a drug possession case in Clackamas County. I had previously hired him to represent me in an eviction case, in which I felt he handled things very professionally and I was very happy with the outcome of that experience.
Fast forward a few years and he now focuses on criminal law, which is why I contacted him to represent me in this case.
After our motion to dismiss was denied (which Troy and I agreed was outrageous) despite having video evidence which proved that the reason for pulling me over was 100% FALSE, things started to go downhill as far as my interactions with Troy.
I was surprised to find that he had sent another attorney to stand in for him at one of our court appearances. He DID write me beforehand to let me know, although it wasn't with much notice.
At a later court appearance, he was late to court and seemed to be the only thing holding things up on that particular day. At one point, the attorney working for the DA just asked me if Troy was there and I had to say that he didn't seem to be.
After that, he just completely no-showed me for another court appearance. I was pretty humiliated when the judge asked me if my lawyer was there and I said no. He then asked why and I had to stand there like a moron and say I had no idea and that he was supposed to have been there.
I hadn't received any communication from Mr. Pickard that would have indicated he wouldn't be there for our court appearance.
I was left feeling like I had spent several thousands of dollars for a defense that would have been expected from a public defender.

Troy has all the skills , the confidence, and respectable grace , in a court room. He represented me in my Landlord tenant case and was right on top of things! He was eager , and very knowledgeable. The case was dismissed and that saved my housing. I couldn't be more grateful or lucky to have had him in my corner. He is prompt in returning calls, and quickly stepped up to defend me in with landlord phone calls . Troy you are soo awsome!! A + in my book! Thank you soo much.

Troy gave us excellent advice on dealing with our bully landlords. He interpreted our lease and we learned that we were in a very strong position to terminate it and move on. Before we talked to Troy we were scared of retribution or being on the hook for a lot of fines - now we are confident to stand up to them and take back control of our living situation. He made himself available for us on short notice and pretty late at night - we are so grateful. He is worth it!

Troy represented my wife and me in a case against our landlord. They made mistake, interfered with our privacy, and refused to make amends... until Troy got involved. Troy showed them the error of their ways and demanded satisfaction for us. Once he got involved, they changed their tune real quick and decided not to roll the dice with us in court.
Troy is a great attorney because he is reasonable, forthright, knowledgeable, and not afraid to go the distance. This is why our problem was resolved so favorably for us. Thanks, Troy!

Troy has been my counsel in a lengthy dispute for 18 months related to a complex situation with a former Landlord. My situation involved claims for numerous unlawful entries, a vindictive Landlord's claim of elder-abuse (dismissed), an unlawful ouster, unlawful initiation of civil procedure, and unlawful deposit with-holdings. Lot's of violations of my Tenant rights. With Troy's direction and excellent counsel, I prevailed in all claims and was awarded a judgement.
Troy has not stopped there and is vigorously pursuing claims via challenges of the crafty LL's potential fraudulent transfer of property.
Troy is tenacious -- and bright - and I eagerly recommend him to any tenants who have suffered from abusive landlords.

Dang, what can I say. I had a manager that didn't know what he was doing, and decided to evict me without warrant. I went to Troy--he helped answer all my questions. When the manager pushed things to trial, Troy took over and talked to counsel for the management company. That fixed everything. The manager was replaced, the management company settled and paid all my attorney fees, and everything's cool. They reimbursed me the full sum of my deposit too. So, everything worked out. I'm pretty grateful.

I came to Troy for help with a retaliative landlord whose abusive behavior left me barely scraping by financially. Troy helped me resolve the matter without any escalation and I was able to recoup enough of my damages to ease the strain. He kept us out of court and his calm, warm demeanor and firm stance on protecting tenant's rights helped me stand up for myself in a way I can feel proud of. I hope I don't need to use Troy again but I'm glad to know he's there if I do.

We contacted Mr. Pickard for a tenant/landlord issue. He was responsive, attentive, and straightforward. He asked what we wanted, and told us what we could expect, and not expect. He made no promises, or strung us along with empty promises to line his pockets. Although we didn't get everything we wanted, we would have had a better outcome if we had hired an attorney early on in the dispute, and not have waited so long to see an attorney. Thank you for your honesty, a rare thing in an attorney. If I ever have landlord problems in the future, I would hire him again.

From the first call to Troy he was responsive, professional and had great follow through. The end result was a nice check in my pocket for resolving my landlord security deposit issue. He responded to my calls and emails in a very timely manner. Let's hope I don't have to use him in the future, but if the need is there, I know where to go.
