Erik has been amazing! I was facing some legal issues when I found Erik; even though he met me at my lowest point he never judged. He seemed to understand that people are not completely defined by a mistake. He was always honest and straight forward which is the main reason I retained him. Erik was... always available through email or phone, I truly felt like I had someone in my corner. After digging through my case he found some opportunities. I paid him a flat fee up front, he could have easily advised me to take the deal and saved himself a ton of time researching and filing motions, attending additional court dates etc, but he didn't. Last year my son was in a position of needing lawyer. I got online, did some review readings and called one. Seems the one I called didn't like to take cases for Washington County, so he referred me to Erik Nicholson. I am glad that he did! Once I called, Erik got us in right away. He did his lawyer... "thing" and got all the information out of us that he needed to build our case. Although, I as the Mom did all the leg work, paid the money, communicated with Erik, he always made sure the my son was the one that made the final decision as HE was the client and never lost sight of that. Erik did a good job of keeping us both informed and communications going. Erik got the papers all drawn up, sent off and followed up with calls. Come to find out we were dealing with some shady people. I don't think they thought we would lawyer up. They were wrong! My son was in the wrong as well and we were advised by Erik to make things right but not get raked over the coals. Long story short, the calls he made, the papers he drew up were enough to make these folks think, maybe we don't want to go down this road. Needless to say, communications as little as they were from their end stopped totally. I am sure that some of this was due to they were shady, as I already mentioned but a lot to do with Erik approaching this so professionally and knowing exactly what to say and what to do. I was told by Erik that we would let this rest for now but that if anything further transpired, he would be ready to pick up where he left off. My hope is I don't need to use a criminal defense lawyer ever again BUT if I do, it will be Erik I call first!
