Outstanding, exceptional

I had a great experience working with Benjamin R. Sissors and his team. From the very beginning, Ben was responsive, attentive, and genuinely invested in my case. I had about 6 days from first contact to my court hearing involving a FAPA restraining order, and he quickly stepped in with a clear, wel...l-thought-out strategy. He took the time to explain everything clearly, laid out realistic expectations, and made sure I understood my options. What stood out most was his level of communication and professionalism—he didn’t treat me like just another case and made sure I felt confident and prepared going into court. His experience and knowledge were evident in how he approached every detail, and it gave me a lot of reassurance during a stressful time. If you’re looking for an attorney who is knowledgeable, responsive, and truly cares about getting the best outcome for you, I highly recommend Ben R. Sissors.

You will know the sky is blue with Ben Scissors

The task, defend a feathered friend from a fictional feather flash and flinch. The fiend? All of them! The foes, fearsome. The solution was simple, cut through the nonsense, allow the truth to speak for itself. He is calm, unflappable, a clear voice of reason that will cut through the inevitable mu...d the prosecution will make out of clear waters. In a case fraught with peril to the highest degree, Benjamin Scissors was the right Litigator and Human for the task, who handily secured me an acquittal on all counts, a win for Roost City; he rung a tiny bell for justice that will reverberate well beyond what will be a most legendary career.

FAPA hearing

Ben is so professional and has an amazing court presence. He was not afraid to take on my very contentious and tricky court case. He worked so hard for me to get the right result and it all turned out all right as it should have in the end.

Bravo Ben - Masterful Work!

If you are facing not one but multiple criminal charges (counts) involving the operation of a motor vehicle which carry the potential consequences of jail time and a big license suspension if convicted, there is good news. You can call Ben. Prior to facing this type of vexing ordeal, I had never b...een arrested in my lifetime. My case went all the way past a favorably conducted evidentiary hearing and legal conferences, just shy of having a 6-person jury trial scheduled with the Court over several months (longer than a year)—where Ben tirelessly, diligently, masterfully worked as the lead Attorney on defeating the entire case. All charges are being dismissed! Let's go from the beginning of this adversarial legal process, where the Office of Administrative Hearings for the DMW was moving to immediately suspend my drivers license within the first ten days of the custodial arrest. After reading a legal notice prepared by Ben and the owner of the law firm which was promptly delivered to the Prosecutor/Police in advance of the DMV suspension hearing, Police elected not to file a police report within the 10-day period required to seek a suspension of my license with the DMV. This procedural issue resulted in an immediate dismissal of the DMV Implied Consent Hearing case. This is the first victory achieved in a very short amount of time after retaining Ben as my lead Attorney on the overall matter. When you retain Ben as your legal advisor, you also receive the support of the entire team of lawyers at the law firm, including the owner of the law firm himself, Mark who has been in the business for 4 decades. Why were the overall results of the case so highly favorable like this? The Officer who charged me with the most serious count never actually conducted Field Sobriety Tests to determine if there was PROBABLE CAUSE to reasonably charge me with DUII. Ben highlighted this major mistake made by the Officer and crafted a plan on how exploit this major flaw to champion a cause for my vindication (legally, constitutionally, and according to statutory sources of case law), so that every advantage to my defense was methodically crafted. What happened next was at the evidentiary hearing, where Ben cross examined the Officer, up to the point just shy of impeaching the Officer as a witness having all of his credibility drained for his placement of false misleading evidence into a Sworn Affidavit for an unconstitutional Search Warrant. Ben effectively demonstrated why the Officer did this: BECAUSE HE DID NOT HAVE PROBABLE CAUSE for the highest count and charge of DUII from his own investigation. So, the Officer falsified and fabricated PROBABLE CAUSE by subsequently writing it into a misleading Sworn Affidavit. How did Ben point this out to the Court? The video evidence from the Police Body Cameras (presented in Court) did NOT match the false misleading fabricated written reported evidence the Officer placed into the misleading Sworn Affidavit. So yes, not just in Third-World countries can you get FRAMED, It happens like this right here in America practically every night and day. Did the Officer get fired? Of course not, Oregon has a super liberal jurisdiction here. The Judge, Prosecutor, and Administration for the Police Force all work under the same umbrella and they look out for each other, even when incompetent, dishonest Police Officers do things like Lying in a Sworn Affidavit to fabricate evidence. This is the definition for liberal. Liberal for them, not for the accused. The Court still wanted to Prosecute the case on all counts, even after the evidentiary hearing! The element of complexity was spiraling. Ben turned this foul ball into a home run! I'm grateful to have been represented by such a world class law firm. The owner Mark Cogan is one super cool cat, poised. Ben will crush with a velvet hammer making no sound to those doing things such as lying in a Sworn Affidavit.

Thank you, Ernie, for the kind words. It was an absolute pleasure representing you and exposing the truth about the officer's conduct in the process.

Finest Defense Attorney with Intangible Qualities

Ben is an amazing attorney and provided the finest legal representation for me during the most difficult time of my life. I faced multiple felony charges, severe penalties, and an aggressive prosecution. Ben has all the qualities of the best lawyers. In my case he applied excellent, diligent and t...ransparent counsel in all procedural aspects of my case, which is expected of all defense attorneys; however, Ben went and beyond for me. He has intangible qualities that won the best outcome for my case: an outcome I believe wouldn’t be possible with different counsel. Most notably, Ben’s trial and courtroom presence sets him apart. He was a true advocate for me in the courtroom. Ben is a gifted speaker, communicating arguments with dazzling clarity. Ben was highly prepared to respond to an aggressive prosecution with his creative, winsome, and convincing defense. Not every lawyer has Ben’s social acumen to turn the tide in decisive courtroom moments. I witnessed Ben’s consistent excellence from pre-trial proceedings to the highly favorable resolution of my case. In addition, Ben is genuine, personable and transparent. Throughout several pre-trial difficulties and restrictions, Ben kept me regularly informed of the evolving elements of my case. He demonstrated professional and uncanny empathy to me in the most challenging moments. In other words, “going through the motions” (no pun intended) is not an aspect of Ben’s approach. As his client, I found Ben’s natural and intuitive concern for me to be a rich bonus of his passion and practice of law. I confidently risk hyperbole to say again that Ben is one of the finest defense attorneys in the Pacific Northwest. In my case, several charges were dismissed, I was not incarcerated, and I was granted a second chance by the court. By most standards, this was a miracle; but in reality, I attribute this to Ben for his diligent and outstanding legal work, and for the intangible qualities that comprise his character and style. Do not hesitate to consult or retain Ben; I anticipate all his clients -present and future- to experience his commitment to excellence. Thank you, Ben! I’m making the most of my second chance.
