Erin's expertise with family law is exactly what I needed in order to navigate a difficult and contentious custody battle and divorce. She has extensive knowledge of how the system works, required paperwork to achieve the desired end, how the different municipal court systems operate, local judges and lawyers in the field, and the dos and don'ts of separation and preparation for mediation / trial. Erin assured me from the beginning that the demands of the opposing party were outlandish and gave me a good idea of what I should expect if we went to court. Everything she told me has been proven correct so far, over the course of 4+ hearings. Erin was very professional through out a long, bitter divorce process. The divorce settlement required the attorney to be well versed in business concepts and defend claims of over-reach. She understands the law very well and is a bulldog when it comes to negotiations. She defended my position in regards to joint custody of the children and highlighted the role of a dad and its importance. I consulted 3 of the top family firms in Portland and she is amongst the best.

Erin helped me with my divorce from my spouse who was in prison. It was a complicated and lengthy process due to the prison system’s lack of a sense of urgency. Erin navigated the complications of dealing with the prison system efficiently. Erin kept me well informed regarding what documents had been filed on what dates and when wait periods would be up so we could proceed to the next step. Throughout the process, she was very understanding and empathetic to my emotional state and was very encouraging as we worked together to end a painful chapter of my life and move on to brighter days. Erin was invaluable in handling my son's divorce, which was a difficult one, requiring much research and some rather difficult circumstances. Particularly important was the custody aspect. While I only had minimal contact with her directly, my son expressed to me his respect for her knowledge, preparation, and commitment to his case. She was very helpful in explaining the process I would undergo in providing testimony.

I came to Erin 18 months into a high conflict divorce, having spent $16,000, with no real resolution in sight. I had the unfortunate and palpable sense that my attorney and my husband's attorney were working together to everyone's demise. Erin was a breath of fresh air. I learned more about my divorce in the first conversation I had with her than in my entire relationship with my former attorney. Erin utilized new (to my divorce), functional tools in bringing my case to settlement. Her negotiating, timing, communication, and deadline setting were impeccable, and she was able to bring my divorce to settlement in under 6 months for comparatively very reasonable cost. I found her and her office to be responsive and respectful. At all times charges for services were uninflated and reflected an ethic of conserving cost. I am very happy with both the financial settlement Erin negotiated in my divorce and with the measures she was able to put into place to provide the best possible, safest visitation parameters for my family's individual circumstances. In working with Erin, I feel I stepped out of a frustrating and intimidating experience in an old-boy network where the cards were stacked against me, and stepped into a functional, legally nearly balanced world with an advocate working for me and for my children. I would recommend Erin in a family law matter to my friends and family. The firm's billing was always honest and fair and well detailed. Her ability to help me remain calm in very stressful situations was of great value to me.

I have mixed feedback on Erin. There were a handful of issues, where I would likely not hire her again. Something important was forgotten to be submitted with the filing, which causes the court to reject it and it had to be reprocessed with extended the whole process by months. I had an attorney before her that had to resign due to a family emergency, and she said it was due to her not submitting it. But it's important to make sure all the boxes are checked, I think since this is a very expensive, stressful and long process. The status didn't seem to be checked on, and I had to check in in order to see that there was an issue as to why it was taking so long. There were some extremely important decisions to be made that were contingent on the judgment being signed, so it was a very long and stressful process to wait. I tried calling her a couple of times and left an urgent message about these issues with the receptionist and did not receive any calls back. She did say that her preference was for me to leave messages with a brief summary to the receptionist, which I tried. There was an issue with Libel from the other party, which she strongly agreed was the case but she said we need to wait for the judgment to be signed before bringing it to the attention of the other party and requesting that it be removed. Once the judgment was signed, she sent it over in an email and said she would shortly get back with next steps. I never heard from her again, and it has been almost 3 months. The Libel issue was never brought up to the other party that I am aware of. As far as I know, it is still on the internet for my family and friends to see. I was sent an itemized bill saying she had officially withdrew as my attorney some weeks later- which is a normal process, but I didn't hear anything back again which I thought was odd and a bit frustrating for me. On the plus side, when my court date was approaching she did prioritize my case and worked hours into the night and over the weekend. She was preparing for court at the same time as attempting to negotiate a settlement so I understand that can be complicated and tricky. She didn't follow through very well once the dust settled, but the job was done.

Yes we hired Erin and for two years paid her a lot of money, not even to go to trial, she left us abandoned after going with the other side she got paid and left us hanging to represent our selves in a very large custody battle, I would not suggest going with this attorney!
