Greg Abbott: Excellent Landlord Tenant Attorney in Portland Metro Area

I'm a business attorney but occasionally I'm asked to answer a landlord-tenant question by a client, neighbor or friend. Greg has always been extremely responsive and provides his guidance and suggestions in a clear, easy-to-understand fashion. When a question recently came up on my own rental, Gre...g provided excellent guidance. He understands that emotions can run high when it comes to your home and provides measured but compassionate guidance. I highly recommend him!

Oregon Landlord Tenant - Excellent support and guidance throughout Process

As novice landlord trying to navigate the statutes alone is a very daunting task at best. In my case I thought I had dotted my i's and crossed my t's only to discover, after my tenants hired an attorney, that I misread a portion of my lease agreement. After being contacted by my tenants attorney. ...Mr. Abbott reviewed my documents and educated me on several items both with my lease agreement and the landlord tenant law itself. I quickly discovered that Mr. Abbott takes pride in not only advising you on what you CAN do in a particular circumstance, but also what may be more appropriate. His experience with the legal process is invaluable as he has see so many different cases and scenarios, that I felt very confident each step of the way. While I had made stumbles in the beginning, he was able to correct my course and I was able to get possession back and move on. I feel that Greg was more than fair with regard to his billing of time. A point I would like also mention is his work and time. Greg works later in the day which is really nice, because I was able to avoid missing work during the day to meet with him, we were able to meet at night. I was impressed with the depth of detail he was able to provide me on several issues and really just can not say enough for his commitment to provide proper details so you can make an educated decision. Something, I can tell you that my tenants attorney did not feel was necessary for them. If you are in need of legal advice or counsel from either the position of landlord or tenant, I dont believe you could find a better advocate than Mr. Abbott. He will be fair. He will be honest, but most of all he will have your best interests in mind.

Positive experience with Gregory L Abbott at Consumer Law Northwest from homeowner

Gregory worked with me to draft up a Notice To Vacate to serve on a house sitter in my home. This was not simply a cookie cutter notice that I could have picked up at the stationary store. He accepted my input to specifically address issues in the situation I was dealing with. His costs were more... reasonable then other attorneys who I checked with. He was very generous with his time and provided me with a lot of valuable advice. I have and will continue to recommend him highly.

Advice about getting court-ordered payment

After trying on my own to get information about the court-ordered pension money due to me, Gregory Abbott was successful in getting a quick response from a very large organization. After carefully listening to me and reading the court- order, he explained the steps that he would take to reach a succe...ssful outcome. He clearly described his billing and kept me informed of the case's progress via email and telephone. He was very knowledgable and able to explain to me everything that was involved in plain English. He is an excellent lawyer and enjoyable to be with.

The best advice for Landlord/Tenant Law

Mr. Abbott responded to an urgent question I posted regarding Landlord/Tenant Law. He gave me invaluable information, that I was able to implement in what I felt to be an urgent matter. I had sent my former tenants a certified invoice, on day 18 out of the 21 days I had to inform them of why they wer...en't getting a security deposit, and what they owed me for stolen plumbing fixtures, as well as damage outside of the custom "wear and tear" allowed. One day before the deadline, day 20, I was power washing the outside vinyl siding and noticed that 4-5 of the "shingles" were melted. They look pregnant. I love pregnant, but not on the side of my house. Having been to the home to make routine repairs, I have seen that in the area of damage is where they used to keep their bbq. It all made sense, but I had not noticed that before I sent the invoice. In a panic, I turned to my trusted AVVO and sent the question out to your experts. This is where Mr. Abbott comes in. Just in the nick of time he told me to file in small claims court, which if I won, could put a lien against their property. When I researched further into a lien I was thrilled, because they stole the mobile home they are in now from a senile 98 year old widow. It's a long story. I feel if I can vindicate her as well as myself, maybe she can have some peace on her heart the remainder of her days, and I will find peace for a piece of property that is very dear to my heart that the tenants stole from and destroyed senselessly. Thank you a million times over for including Attorney Abbott on AVVO, I have hope again.
