After 14 years in Law Enforcement and working as a Paralegal for the Public Defender, Mr. Hinely was determined to become a Criminal Defense Attorney.
After graduating from law school, Mr. Hinely opened his private practice, while also serving as a Contract Public Defender. During this time, Mr. Hinely recognized that the Public Defender Offices were extremely impacted and forced to handle many more cases than could be appropriately researched, investigated, and prepared for court. Subsequently, Mr. Hinely made the decision to terminate the Public Defender position and focus on his private practice, providing clients with the time and care needed to appropriately prepare their case for court.
At the Law Offices of John K. Hinely it is our policy that if you hire Mr. Hinely; then Mr. Hinely will be working on your case. We do not "farm" out cases to other attorneys, etc. You came into our office expecting a specific attorney to represent you and this is what we will provide you. Of course office staff may be used for administrative functions, but legal functions will be completed by Mr. Hinely.
