I was hit by a driver who ran a red light at full speed and it resulted in severe back pain that required a lot of physical therapy. The injury hindered my ability to interact with my toddler and to partake in sporting activities that I enjoyed on a regular basis. I wanted a lawyer who would go to ba...t for me...but I picked the wrong one.
I was initially impressed with John Demas during our first (and only) meeting. He is a very knowledgeable person and I felt that my interests would be protected. Unfortunately that was not the case. I was told up front that my case could take six months...but I was not told about the near total lack of communication from his office. I was contacted with an update only once and I had to take the initiative to get any further updates from him and his staff.
I can understand and appreciate that processing a claim can take a while...but a courtesy call or email would have gone a long way in relieving any worries I may have had. When they came to me with a settlement I had asked a staff lawyer why they did not pursue additional compensation for pain and suffering under my UIM coverage and he skirted the issue and (to my regret) I signed the form bringing the case to a close.
I'm sure my case was one of many of its type that Mr. Demas and his staff worked. I had read the positive reviews for this firm prior to contacting him and I was expecting more. There was no personal attention, there was no empathizing, and there was no discussion of what my options were. The whole process was very impersonal even though this event affected me very personally. I would not recommend Mr. Demas to anyone based on my experience.

Although we do not recall such a case, we deeply apologize if you indeed had a negative experience with our law firm. Our priority is to provide excellent customer service for our clients by keeping them informed of what is happening with their case and communicating with them at least on a monthly basis. Our goal is to serve as advocates for our clients and obtain the maximum possible compensation for their particular case. As far as obtaining additional compensation through UIM coverage, that is not typically something one can pursue just for "pain and suffering". We would be happy to discuss these issues further with you. Please contact our office to see what we can do to make things right for you.
