Hendrick misrepresented to me all essentials of my case; DA's original offer, the terms of my plea, the terms of my sentencing. Hendrick handled my DUI case without my presence in the court room during the hearings. He took a complete advantage of my absence and continually misrepresented facts of ...my case to me afterwards. Hendrick claimed that the DA's original plea offer had an injury on hit and run charge and emphasized how hard he had to work to get the DA's to dismiss it - it was not there. For my plea Hendrick accepted a Harvey Waiver behind my back and concealed it from me. (Harvey Waiver, in addition to restitution, allows dismissed counts/charges be taken into sentencing). He claimed my plea had just two simple misdemeanors, nothing else. Wrong, in addition to a Harvey Waiver he agreed to a specified misdemeanor (misdemeanor with a property damage and an injury) despite knowing there was not a scratch, smudge, or even any color transfer on either vehicle and no claim of any kind. He also misrepresented my sentencing terms. He assured me and many times confirmed my sentencing terms as 2 years of formal probation and 2 years of informal. In reality it was 4 years of formal probation, not 2 - he was aware of it for many months, since he entered this plea without me being present. - I had no knowledge about Hendrick's misrepresentations, as he was the only source of information for me about my case. I did not learn the truth until many months after the sentencing. Things just did not seem right, I had questions and Hendrick's answers did not make much sense. Therefore I ordered the transcripts of my hearings and after reading them, it was undeniable that Hendrick deceived me. Sadly, even after being confronted with the concrete and indisputable facts, Hendrick did not hesitate to either lie further, or chose not to answer any direct/specific question. Deceptions and lies are the last things you expect from your own defense attorney after hiring him to help you with your criminal case. Hendrick took advantage of my trust and betrayed it. I paid him to defend me, but in reality he worked for the prosecution and not for me. All the facts of my case indicate that he used (crossed two cases) my case to reach a better deal for another client of his - with the same prosecutor at the same time. There are many DUI attorneys, be careful about your choice, if you want to avoid my unfortunate experience. If I could give no star, it would be there.

My wife personally knew this person as a friend of the family for years before she recommended me using him. Unfortunately, he was very hard to reach during my case, and once payment was received, and verdict made (in which he just advised to plead no contest even though we have been advised by a new... lawyer we would have won the case if we would have pursued it, instead of just taking a plea because I didnt know any better). In the end he was only out for the money and I spoke more with his team than I ever did with him. Getting a personal appointment to see him was next to impossible. Getting any follow up information from him is even more impossible as we have emailed him several times for answers regarding our case and he nor his employees ever respond. Because the info I need has to come from him, my life has been put on hold. Ready to file a BBB complaint as well.

I hired him because I was arrested with a DUI charge for .08% BAC. The case turned out to be fairly cut and dry, and I may not have needed a lawyer at all, but the least I could have hoped for from my attorney for the hefty fee would be a timely response to my questions and a friendly disposition. He... had to postpone my trial twice and when he did finally get around to doing anything for me I felt very uninformed about what was happening throughout the entire case. When I called to check up on the progress of my case, Hendrick was almost impossible to get a hold of. I would be put on the line with a paralegal who were friendly enough but not great at giving me the information I needed. If I wanted anything from them I had to call to find it, more than once my emails went completely unanswered. To his credit, I had my DUI reduced to a wet reckless, but that was offered up by the DA so all he really had to do was hand in my notarized signature accepting their plea offer. It really felt like I got scammed on top of the arrest, which for that time of my life, was a very bad feeling. His office just isn't organized or friendly, they make you feel like you're burdening them if you ask for help on anything. If I could turn back time, I would definitely have made a different choice with my attorney.
