Shortly after my arrest, I moved away without ever dealing with the case and a warrant was issued for my arrest. Six years later I again contacted Mr. Chan to finally resolve my case since I could not get a driver’s license when I now live due to the warrant. Mr. Chan still had all of the documents demo my previous case and was wiling to help me. The District Attorney’s Office wanted me to plead guilty to the DUI and serve almost a year in jail because I have felony DUI convictions in another state. Mr. Chan refused to agree to that deal. He ended up getting the entire case dismissed against me and I was able to get my driver’s license back. I am so glad I hired him and highly recommend Richard Chan.

I retained Richard for a DUI and he was quick to call me back and take my money (1,750) after that he was a ghost I called his office and eventually his cell phone several times and not one call back. For my arraignment he never contacted me and when I showed up in court he had sent another lawyer who had no idea only to set my court day WAY in the future. He called me the day before court where to meet up, he went in did the work. He said he would follow up with a letter of what transpired and what I needed to do, it showed up about 30 days later. I the mean time I called him and his office several times for the letter and questions. Never a once a return call. Terrible service, unacceptable

He just represented a family member in a fraud case and was able to reduce the charges. His background as a prosecutor gives him invaluable insight. Richard Chan was concerned not only about the charges against this family member but the cause of the behavior. He tenaciously addressed the charges and the underlying behavior. His associate, Patricia Chapman, also provided tremendous support and effort in this matter. I am very thankful for the outcome in this case and highly recommend Richard Chan as a criminal lawyer.

I was arrested for felony DUI with injury in Sacramento, CA. This was my first offense of any kind and I was unsure of what to do. I interviewed several attorneys with my wife and the decision to hire Richard was easy. Richard treated me with dignity and respect from the very beginning. Richard promised to argue my case very aggressively and that is exactly what he did. The prosecutor in my case was pursuing the maximum penalty in my case which amounted to nearly 10 years in state prison. Richard would not accept this and continued to fight for me. Richard was confident that he could secure a better outcome and constantly encouraged me not to give up. I was scared and felt as though the world was caving in around me. Richard always reassured me that we were not done fighting yet. Richard was able to convince the judge in my case that I should not go to state prison for a first offense. That I was a good person who made a terrible mistake and should be given a chance. I was instead sentenced to probation. Richard Chan's hard work and dedication made it possible for me to keep my family and career. Most importantly I have been able to see my child grow up in person.
Richard is an excellent attorney whose opinion and advice I will always respect. Richard always made me feel like I was his most important client. To this day if I have any legal questions I know that Richard will always be there for me. I can't ever thank him enough for what he did. Richard saved me when I thought all was lost. Hiring Richard Chan was the best decision I could have made. He saved my life.

Was referred to him by a friend. He was completely upfront about our situation and worked hard for us. He won our case! He communicated with me throughout the entire case and always kept me informed. Returned my calls and answered all my questions thoroughly. I would hire him again.

Richard and his office staff showed nothing but professionalism, trustworthiness, and really cared about you as a person. We filed bankruptcy with another laywer because of a failed business, but this attorney dissappeared on us, we tried another and was dropped and then I saw Richard on TV. Yes, there are many "hipe" adds but his just seemed very honest and straight forward so we called. He was honest and direct with what we needed to do. Our bankruptcy was filed and ready for discharge and then we had a creditor that caused a tremendous amount of grief and almost got our bankrupcy dismissed. Richard and his staff said they would see this through and they did!. Ours time spent totaled 3 years but it is over thanks to the Alaye-Chan law office. They were always honest but showed they cared for you and your situation. His office staff were accurate and timely with all paperwork needed. They saw it through to the end. We can finally sleep after 3 years of unkown and move forward to living again. We recommend this office!

Mr. Chan was very helpful. He put our minds at ease by explaining all details because we were unsure whether this was the right course of action for us. His staff was always available to answer our questions.

The bankruptcy went as smooth as silk. No bumps, everything went just as Richard Chan said it would. I'm a little over a year out from final and we are better off today than we were when we filed. Everything went great.

I had a consultation with Richard and he was amazing! I ended up not needing his services but his advice saved me a lot of time and money. He followed up quickly on the one question I had after our meeting and let me know all the options available. Highly recommended!
